Hello everyone, and welcome to the week! It’s time to take a look at the notable updates of the past seven days once again. Weeding out the inevitable latecomers, this will more or less be the last Halloween-themed update this year. How does time pass, huh? Of course, you can keep an eye on updates yourself by participating in the TouchArcade forums. This weekly recap is just here to fill in the things you might have missed. Let’s go for it!
Mortal KombatFree
Guys, don’t tell anyone but this update is a few weeks old. I missed it, I saw it today, and it’s too good to pass up. Because being a part of Mortal Kombat For the 30th anniversary, Klassic Movie Raiden has been added to this game. Yes, Christopher Lambert of all his vague Asian gods with French accent glory is here, and he’s amazing. They even have his real voice and everything. There are other things here, but Christopher Lambert is all I wanted to talk about, so mission accomplished. Let’s move along.
Jetpack JoyrideFree
Jetpack Joyride Don’t miss many opportunities to celebrate the holidays. So yes, time for the Halloween event. You can get a new Sarcophagus jet pack, an Embalmed Profit Bird skin, and a new outfit for Barry as Ramesses the Greatfries. There are several other outfits also available, so why not have a look?
Dan The ManFree
A Halfbrick Halloween update deserves another, I guess. Dan the Man there’s a Halloween update, and that’s about what we’ve come to expect from updates to this game over the years. Monsters are everywhere for a limited time and you have to show them what-to do. There are several new season-appropriate levels to play, some new mummy and zombie skins, and the usual new emotes and event icons to collect. It’s good now.
MasterChef: Let’s Cook!,
Apple Arcade subscribers can also get in on the Halloween fun with some games. The first we will look at today is MasterChef: Let’s cook, is hosting a limited-time event with Halloween recipes and custom elements to collect. Serve some spooky dishes and you won’t have to worry about any tricks. Although it would be funny if the game had some kind of trick involved if you didn’t create those properly. Hmm.
Grindstone,
I don’t think this update is technically considered a Halloween update, but you can consider it an update if you’re very liberal with the definition. GrindstoneThe latest version allows you to walk longer on the Cosmic Darkside, providing forty more levels and blueprints for the Osmutational Arrow, the Cosmic Mirror Sword, and the Lightning Potion in the jar. You don’t understand the power of the Dark Universe, but… you maybe. Come on, we’ve got the design.
Air Twister,
Okay, no matter how you look at it, it’s not a Halloween update. Chain is broken. We all went home sad and bad. That’s how eggs break. Our consolation prize? A new limited-time event will run until November 25. If you beat the event, you’ll get new weapon skins and some new outfits. There’s also a new Fluffy stage called Cyber in this update and it’s a pair of trousers. Prepare!
Gear.Club Stradale,
As we continue to zoom forward in this article, we will come Gear.Club Stradale. It has a big new update to check out, with a new game mode called Trackday, four new tracks to race just for that mode, a new Car Collection feature, a bunch of new achievements to unlock and a bunch of improvements to the game and user interface. Oh, and got a new car. Guess it buried a bit. Oh good. In the end, it is the great friend of any update, fix! Thank you, the fix. You quietly make most games better.
Marvel Contest of ChampionsFree
It’s been a good time, but the latest update for Marvel Contest of Champions is actually Spider-Man themed. That means I’m awarding the game I covet UMMSotW prize for this week, but let’s see if it’s actually earned. Crucially there are some new challenges for Thronebreaker level players, but also the aforementioned Arachnophobia event that saw Spider-Man Supreme recruit Spiders from across the Spider-Verse to battle the Spot and save all of the Humans. spider from disaster. But who is real villain? Play and see, true believers. Also in this update: Halloween stuff! We are back!
Disney Heroes: Battle ModeFree
Given the time of year, you should expect any updates Disney Heroes: Battle Mode relate to anything else Halloween-ish. The game doesn’t disappoint, at least in terms of maintaining the theme. Mayor of Tim Burton Nightmare before Christmas join the list in this release and… weird scissors, but I’m feeling it. Unfortunately, that’s all we get for the new characters this time around. There’s also a refresh on Miguel Rivera and some of the usual performance improvements and bug fixes, but The Mayor is the heart of all of this.
Merge MansionFree
We’re wrapping things up with our final Halloween update and also our must-have Free Match Puzzle update. Its Merge Mansion, which is pretty scary even outside of Halloween season thanks to beautiful Grandma and her pranks. That aside, there are apparently a few Halloween events going on in the game right now. There’s also a new area in the form of a Cemetery, and given the general tone of this game, I’m a bit worried about what Maddie might find there. Surely she wouldn’t… She will?
