Great Eastern Highway closed east of Perth as fire crews battle mining truck fire

A truck fire has forced the closure of a major route east of Perth as firefighters battle to bring the blaze under control.
The truck carrying mining equipment and pesticide caught alight on Great Eastern Highway near the intersection of Old Northam Road in Wooroloo just before 6am.
Great Eastern Highway has been closed in both directions in the area as fire crews work to douse the flames.
Smoke is billowing from the truck, which is pulling a trailer, as fire crews from Wundowie, Midland and Mundaring fire stations fight the raging blaze in the Shire of Mundaring.
WA Police have also been dispatched to the fire.
