Google plans to bring ‘Circle to Search’ feature to desktop with Chrome update- Details
Google’s Circle to Search feature has been the talk of the town since it was launched last year with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. Now, this feature is being applied to some mid-range and older generation smartphones. This feature is also available on Pixel smartphones (obviously). Now, the company is planning to bring this feature to desktop by integrating it with Chrome. While the feature’s functionality on desktop may seem confusing, it’s either not rolled out yet or may not be. Know that Google is planning to update Chrome online.
Google Circle to Search is coming to desktop
According to Android Police report, Google Chrome is working on a new Lens integration to bring the Circle feature to Search for desktop. As a result, Google Lens will move to Chrome with a new user interface discovered by X user Leopeva64. The sharing parcel by tipster introduced the new Lens UI in Chrome that has animations similar to Android’s Circles for Search. “The new Lens UI in Chrome now has animations similar to what you see when activating Android’s Circles to Search,” the post said.
The Circle to Search feature on desktop will ask the user to select any image or text on the website and it will give you the corresponding results. This feature will make searching on laptop devices easier and more intuitive. Integrating Google Lens into the Chrome browser could be the next big step as it has the potential to improve the way we search on Google.
Currently, this feature and UI is said to be in the development stage and is expected to roll out in future Chrome updates. However, as of now, it is unclear when the feature will be fully rolled out in Chrome for all users to try out the new visual feature. Therefore, we will have to wait and see what Google has planned for its desktop users.
