Google Pixel 8 can be surprisingly small and quite curved
Follow-up from unofficial renders shows us Possible design of Google Pixel 8 Prowe have now seen the same treatment for the standard Pixel 8and the accompanying information suggests that this could be an ideal choice for fans of compact flagships.
reputable leaker OnLeaks (opens in a new tab) shared these renders – some of which you can check out below – with My Smart Price (opens in a new tab)and they showed a phone that looks a lot like a phone Google Pixel 7. It has a large metal camera cover that houses two lenses, a likely glass back (shown in white here), a metal frame, and a display with a punch-hole camera inside.
So far, it’s the Pixel 7. But take a closer look and you’ll notice that the corners are much more rounded, giving it a much more curved look than its boxy predecessor. That change isn’t just about aesthetics, partly due to the idea that the Pixel 8 is supposed to have a 5.8-inch display only.
That’s down from 6.3 inches on the Pixel 7 and makes for a truly compact phone by modern standards. It’s rare to find a high-end phone with a screen smaller than 6.1 inches, a size iPhone 14″, SamsungGalaxy S23And Sony Xperia 5IV all in.
The actual dimensions of the Google Pixel 8 are apparently 150.5 x 70.8 x 8.9 mm, with the thickness increasing to 12 mm at the camera bar. For reference, the Pixel 7 measures 155.6 x 73.2 x 8.7mm, so it’s no surprise that this would make the Pixel 8 both shorter and narrower.
Given that the Google Pixel 8 series probably won’t land until October, of course we’ll take this information and these images with a pinch of salt, but the source is as solid as the leakers have it.
Bigger changes seem to be planned for Pixel 8 Pro
The same source behind the recent Pixel 8 Pro leak and the changes there sounds similar but is more important.
The phone is also expected to have a smaller screen than its predecessor, dropping from 6.7 inches to around 6.52 inches, and is also expected to have more rounded corners but a similar design. . However, it is also shown to have four rear cameras (up from three on Pixel 7 Pro), with a new lens that is said to be a macro camera or a depth sensor.
So we could see even more differences between the Pro and standard models compared to previous years, making the Pixel 8 Pro more likely to be included in our list. best smartphone guide, while the standard Pixel 8 can also find its way to us best small phone list.
