Google Pixel 7 tipped to get dual eSIM support with Android 13 Beta update: Report
Google Pixel 7 users seem to have started getting dual eSIM support with the Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 update. Pixel smartphones have been supporting the use of a single eSIM along with a physical SIM card for a while now. . This new update is said to allow users to ditch their physical SIM card and have two eSIM profiles active simultaneously. The Pixel 7 series is expected to get stable dual eSIM support in the next few months. So we can expect more beta users to get this feature soon.
Esper Senior Technical Editor Mishaal Rahman (Twitter: @MishaalRahman) detect a beta tester received dual eSIM support on their device Pixel 7. The device is said to be running on Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2. Several other users also mentioned that dual eSIM support has been enabled on their Pixel 7.
rahman trust that the Pixel 7 is already capable of supporting dual eSIM configurations. Google may have released a server-side update to the SIM Manager app included with Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2. Users were previously allowed to apply for multiple eSIM profiles. However, only one person is allowed to operate at a time.
Google Germany previously reported mentioned that it plans to bring dual eSIM support to Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in March 2023. Rahman recently declare that Google may be developing a new feature that will allow users to easily transfer eSIM profiles from their old Android phone to their new phone.
A new system property could also allow users to switch the physical SIM card from the old phone to the eSIM in the new phone. Android does not currently include the ability to transfer eSIM profiles to new devices.
