Google Pixel 6 Series Gets Game Console Update: What It Is And How It Can Help


Google introduced its game dashboard utility with Android 12 and originally, it was exclusively for Pixels 6 smartphones. Meanwhile, this widget is still exclusive to Pixel devices, but it has been updated with new features with Android 13 and along with Google Pixel 6This tool is also available on Pixel 6a now.
As reported by XDA Developers, the tech giant has started rolling out the new console via Google’s latest update. Play Services, bringing it to version 22.30. Users can also go through the settings menu to check the Game Console menu availability.
What’s new in the Game Dashboard update
According to the report, the updated Game Console includes a range of in-game menu options on supported mobile devices. This new feature will be available when the user launches the game with the menu enabled. Users are expected to find a small arrow on the right or left side of the screen, the report suggests. A game controller icon will appear when the user taps this arrow, which will eventually trigger the Game Console settings menu.

The menu will also include a dedicated – do not disturb, frame rate counter, screen recording, and a screenshot off button. Users can get quick access to these tools by enabling some of these options that will now appear as part of an overlay on the Game Console button, the report states.
In addition to these shortcuts, the in-game menu will also have an option to stream to Live on YouTube and a game optimization engine. The dashboard will not provide users with ways to tweak the settings in these menus, however, the tool will give users easy access to some of the more commonly used gaming tools, reporting statement statement.
How Google is trying to bring this tool to other devices
Previous reports suggest that Google is trying to include a Game Console option on non-Pixel devices. The report suggests that the company will have to include the Game Console in Google Play Services to achieve this goal.

Previously, the service was located in SystemUIGoogle, however, the tool was moved to Play Services with Android 13. Recently, Google also confirmed the availability of Game Dashboard on non-devices. belongs to the Pixel line, but it has not reported further.
