Google Lens has new search screen feature on Android, Multisearch available globally
Google has rolled out multi-search for Lens on mobile devices globally. This feature allows users to search with Google Lens using both text and images at the same time. This feature will be available in all languages and countries supported by Google Lens. In addition, the search giant also announced one more feature called ‘Search Screen’, which allows users to search for anything they see on their screen using Google Assistant and Lens.
According to the notice of Google through it blog post, a multi-search feature that allows users to search by image and text at the same time, is now globally available in all languages and regions supported by Google Lens. The company has also improved multi-search allowing users to search using images and local text. Users can take a photo and use the phrase “near me” to find anything locally. It is currently available in English in the United States and will be expanded globally soon.
Another feature that has been added to Lens is the ‘Search Screen’. Google Lens will now be able to “search your screen” on Android, allowing users to search for photos and videos from any website or messaging/video app directly from their screen using Assistant. Google explains it as “If you can see it, you can search for it.” This feature will be rolled out in the coming months. Once enabled, users will have to call up the Google Assistant and they will be greeted with a new Search Screen button.
Google Lens is an AI-powered search engine that uses photos or live camera previews instead of words to search. According to Google, it is currently being used more than 10 billion times per month. And now with new features, it will definitely become more efficient. You can use the “search screen” feature to know about a particular place or thing and Lens will identify that place or thing and give you more details about that place or thing .
In November 2022, the Google Lens icon was more to the Google Search home page. It is now visible along with the microphone icon inside the search box. When clicking on the icon, the user can choose to drag and drop to upload or paste the file link to perform a search.
