Google brings AI features to Chromebook Plus laptops- Check out all the details here

Google recently announced several AI features, improved models, and more at its Google I/O event. A few days after the event, the company made another big announcement that would equip Chromebook devices with advanced AI features. Microsoft recently announced similar AI features for its Copilot+ PC, allowing compatible laptops to run on-device AI features. Now, with Chromebook Plus laptops, users can experience new AI features like Help Me Write, creative AI wallpapers, etc.

Introducing Chromebook Plus’s Google AI feature

According to Google’s blog parcel, Chromebook Plus laptops will now be equipped with the company’s advanced AI features, allowing users to enhance their productivity. These Chromebook Plus laptops are ChromeOS-based devices and are supported by the hardware requirements set by Google. Laptops will also experience a new Game Dashboard, through which users can quickly record gameplay and customize their controls.

Google’s AI features are coming to Chromebook Plus

1. Help me write: With a simple right click on the laptop’s mouse, users can access this AI feature to help users write text. It is capable of generating text from scratch based on user input or can also rewrite existing text. With the Help Me Write feature, users can write “formal, shorter, or completely rewritten text.”
2. Creative AI wallpapers: With the help of built-in ChromeOS, users can create AI wallpapers for their devices or can also create wallpapers for video calls.
3. Magic Editor: Chromebook Plus users can take advantage of Ai photo editing on Google Photos. This will allow users to “Tap or circle the objects you want to edit, hold and drag to reposition them, or pinch to resize them.”
4. Gemini Home to ChromeOS: This new addition will allow users to chat with Gemini through the Gemini app available on the home screen. For new Chromebook Plus users, Google is offering a 2TB Google One AI Premium plan for 12 months, which includes Gemini Advanced, Gemini in Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, etc.

Existing Chromebook Plus will receive AI features via an automatic update coming next week. Google has also added new laptop lines from HP, Acer and ASUS for users planning to buy Chromebook devices.
