Goodlife gym stabbing: Fourth person charged after partner Comanchero was killed


The fourth and final man accused of stabbing a Comanchero bikie colleague outside a gym has been charged after a takeout meal blew up his cover.

Kyle Martin, 24, was arrested with his 24-year-old girlfriend after police surrounded a house on Albion Street in Warwick at 9:45pm on Saturday.

He is the latest person to be charged with murder after 23-year-old Levi Johnson was ambushed at a Goodlife exercise car park in Carindale on Monday.

Thomas Friedrich Myler, 35, Stuart Galloway and Luke Thomas Moore, all 34, were the other three people arrested for the attack.

Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham said police will allege Martin stabbed Johnson six times during the attack.

“It will also be alleged that even after that point, a member of the four accused continued to assault the deceased,” he said.

‘This is a shameful act, it is a brutal attack, it is a cowardly attack.’

Police allege the men were part of a gang called the 13 Kings and that one of the men stabbed Johnson to get admission to a bikie club.

‘At this stage there will be a number of issues to be brought up in court, regarding motives. I can’t go into details (because) we’re in a sub-trial,’ he said.

‘But certainly some thought process surrounding the commission of this offence may have entered the mind of at least one of these defendants, participating in a motoring group in the commission of this crime. .

Superintendent Massingham said police found Martin after tracking down his girlfriend, who picked up takeout food.

Supt Massingham said: “The food was enough for two people and was paid in cash.

‘That’s when I was confident we had our wanted man.’

He is said to have planned to leave the state and go to Western Australia.

Martin will appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday while his girlfriend will continue to assist police with their inquiries.

Martin was arrested a day after Myler was taken into custody following a police raid at a home on Skinner Avenue in Wellington Point on Friday.

Brisbane Regional Crime Coordinator Chief of Investigation Andrew Massingham said police will allege he buried the gun at another property shortly before his arrest.

“We were able to get help from PolAir and a short time later a Mazda 323 left this (Wellington Point) address,” he said.

‘That vehicle was taken to an address in Chandler where we believe the wanted man … buried several guns in a property. “

Myler is said to have fallen and broken up with Martin after the stabbing.

Director Massingham said: “It seems from some words that were said this evening by this man (Myler) that that relationship is somewhat fractured and that is clearly something that we will be looking at. in the coming days.

Myler has been charged with murder, unauthorized possession of a motor vehicle, entry into premises, possession of explosives possession command, and driving without an interlock.

His matter was briefed before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday and the case was adjourned until October 4.

His girlfriend has not been charged by police and is still being questioned.

Two cars crashed into Mr Johnson’s car before four men got out and started banging on his window on Monday.

Mr Johnson fled but two men caught up with him nearby and he was stabbed multiple times.

“It was definitely something very intense, it happened extremely quickly and they were really passionate about completing their mission,” said Massingham director.
