Golden Glider Works for Belmont

Golden roller coaster (Ghostzapper), most recently placed second in GIII Peter Pan S., adjusted for GI Belmont S. on Saturday with a four-time run at: 49.90 (33/84) at Belmont Park Sunday. The NYRA watchers caught the pony, with exercise cyclist Kylie Wellington, crossing a quarter mile in: 26.20 and galloping in 1:02.80.

“I thought he did a really good job. He settles in early, which is what you want in a Belmont horse, and flies home,” said trainer Mark Casse.

Casse won the 2019 Belmont with Sir Winston (Awesome Again), who also finished second in Peter Pan entering the Test of Champions. The Hall of Fame coach expects the Golden Glider to have no trouble with the Belmont 1/2 mile.

Casse laughed, “I’m not worried about the mile and a half, just how long it will take. “He is the one-beat type, so I hope he will have a similar ride to Sir Winston. In his previous races, Sir Winston used to come from the clouds, but in Belmont, Joel Rosario kept him close enough and I could see the same thing happen on Saturday with Dylan [Davis]. ”

Also works on the Sunday before Saturday’s stock packing card in Belmont, Speaker corner (Street Sense) went four in: 48.01 (5/117) on the track before joining GI Hill ‘n’ Dale Metropolitan H.

“I let him pick it up a little bit more,” said coach Bill Mott. “He hinted: 24 going home today. He’s so nice and I had him in: 47 3/5. The gallop took place normally. We let him finish with the rope. “

Speaker’s Corner, a Godolphin hybrid, won the GIII Fred Hooper S. at Gulfstream in January, the GII Gulfstream Park Mile in March, and is about to win the GI Carter H. April 9.

“We had a nice schedule. We have a good foundation and plenty of time to prepare for this race, so hopefully it will be successful,” said Mott. “He seemed to be doing well and we finished all of our work and luckily we didn’t miss anything. We did what we wanted to do.”

Coach Chad Brown sent GI Resorts World Casino Manhattan S. hopeful Rockempanga (Ire) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}) to perform five feathered scissors in 1:01.80 (1/3) on the inside turf at Belmont Sunday.

Brown said: “He did a great job. “He is quite fond of Belmont and the key for him is a solid pitch. If the grass is firm on Saturday, he will run.”

Rockempang won the GI Joe Hirsch Turf Classic S. on Belmont turf last year.

Also working for Manhattan, Gufo (Declaration of War) worked on four corporate benches: 49.60 (September 19) in the inner courtyard at Belmont Sunday.

“Gufo has done a great job and is ready for Manhattan,” said coach Christophe Clement. “He worked really hard and played really well in Man o’ War. ”

Finishing third in Manhattan last year, Gufo is moving ahead with a runner-up attempt at the May 14 GI Man o’War S.
