God of War Ragnarök’s photo mode is now live, allowing you to change facial expressions for Kratos, Atreus, and others

God of War Ragnarok’s photo mode is finally here. In a tweet, developer Santa Monica Studio confirmed their latest patch — version 3.00 — also includes the much-awaited in-game snapshot mode. Similar to the original God of War (2018), this feature was released a little before the release date and allows you to change facial expressions for selected characters in a scene. This applies to potential clients like Kratos, Atreus, Freya, Brok, Sindri, Tyr, Angrboda, Thor and Thrúd. Another cool feature is that you can hide the main or secondary characters that appear in the frame. This mode can be accessed by pressing the ‘Square’ button from the options menu.

This is, of course, a complement to a host of camera options where you can adjust the field of view, focal length, depth of field, and use filters. Similar to the photo mode in most AAA games, God of War Ragnarok allows you to apply pre-designed borders and move around the logos for added personalization. above blog PlayStation, QA Lead Tim Ward has listed some helpful tips for photographers just starting out in the game, starting by asking players to “adjust the Filter Strength, Vibration, and Saturation on your desired filter for a wider color range”. Vertical shots are also a piece of cake, as the game allows you to rotate the camera 90 degrees, creating some much needed space.

Besides patches to fix basic issues, this newly released patch photo mode could be the last big addition to God of War Ragnarok. In one Spoilercast discussed last month, game director Eric Williams ruled out potential future downloadable content by saying: “I don’t know man, that game is huge. I think we’ve put everything we’ve got into it, so I’m not going to believe it.” The new one update version 3.00 brings a lot of improvements to the game, preventing players from triggering certain actions or progressing in the story. The PS4 version with some additional tweaks for faster loading times for enemies and environment assets.

At the end of last month, PlayStation announced that God of War Ragnarok has become bestseller The first-party launch title in the publisher’s history, with 5.1 million copies sold in its launch week. The game has been Nominated in 10 categories in the near future Game Award show — even won a spot for the prestigious Game of the Year trophy, alongside a significant other Elen’s ring and PlayStation exclusive Forbidden Horizon.

God of War Ragnarok’s photo mode is now available on both PS4 and PS5.
