Looking for an excuse to break that Leviathan Ax for another adventure? As of today, there’s a new update to God of War Ragnarök with loads of new content, all built around the powerful New Game Plus mode.
The new game Plus is open to anyone who has beaten the game and all your gear and skills will go with the ride. You also have access to all weapons, including the Draupnir Spear. However, it should be noted that areas that require access to that spear will remain closed until you reach the appropriate point in the story. For the same reasons, you also won’t start your new play with Sonic or Hex arrows.
Some new armor appeared. The most interesting is the Spartan Armor, which recalls the look of Kratos from the old days in the Greek pantheon. When wearing it you get no perks, no stats and it’s locked to Strength Level 1 – wait for a challenge.
New Game Plus also has new level caps, enchantments, and progression routes to improve your abilities. Players can also tackle an expanded version of the Niflheim Arena, where you play as either Kratos or Atreus and bring along a variety of companions to help.
Among a number of other additions and improvements, players can also use the Black and White Rendering mode for a more cinematic experience.
It’s a remarkable explosion of new content that ensures dedicated fans have a good reason to come back if they want to.
God of War Ragnarök was released last November for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
