Unlike 2018’s debut in the rebooted series, God of War Ragnarok lets you tour all nine kingdoms of Norse mythology. This means you’ve got some new places to explore as well as some favorites back from the original game. One of such revisited kingdoms is the volcanic world of Muspelheim, where there are plenty of combat challenges and loot to work with. However, opening the portal to get there requires you to combine the two halves of the Yggdrasil Seed, so read below for where to find both.

Location First Muspelheim Seed Half
The first half of the seed can be obtained early in the adventure. Dock your boat at Modvitnir’s Rig on the left side of Bounty Bay in Svartalfheim, then climb up the first step in front of you and look to the right to find some logs that you can climb. At the top, use your ax to hit the nearby switch and land the front gate, jump over the gap and crawl onto the wood here. At the top, you’ll find the Muspelheim Seed Half in a chest.
Second Half Muspelheim Seed Location
Getting the second half of the seed will require you to play through a significant part of the game until you get the Draupnir Spear. Return to Bounty Bay in Svartalfheim and dock your boat at Dragon Beach on the right side of the area. Once here, climb on the chain on the left and throw a spear into the gusty wind above. Use this to climb to a previously inaccessible area, then go left across this bridge a bit until you see a runestone on the left, which you can use and then claim Ask Freya to read some runes first to reveal a chest needed for the side quest here.
From the chest that Freya revealed, turn left and enter the nearby caves. After defeating the enemies here, grab one of the fireballs sitting near you and use it to break the gold surrounding a chest in this corridor. Inside that chest is where you’ll find the Muspelheim Seed Half.
With both seeds in possession, you can now visit any mystical gateway (fast travel point) and choose Muspelheim to visit there and compete in a wide selection of unique combat challenges to loot. Use all of ours Guide to God of War Ragnarok if you need help.
