GMA T.50 sounds unreal when tunneling

Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 is designed to emphasizing the driving experience on integers. In one key area, it succeeded.

This video was posted Anytimespy The YouTube channel shows a T.50 with some examples of its inspiration — the McLaren F1 — as they drove through the tunnel during the F1 owner’s tour of Italy. T.50 sounds completely unreal. The screams echoing from the tunnel walls are reminiscent of V-10 Formula One racing cars, and even make the McLaren F1 sound a little quiet by comparison.

The source of that great sound is the custom-built 3.9-liter naturally aspirated V-12 developed by Cosworth. The absence of forced induction improves the sound quality of this motor and allows it to spin up to 12,100 rpm. It is also mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The V-12 produces 654 hp and 344 lb-ft of torque, which may not seem very impressive by modern supercar standards, but it’s still enough to squeak the wheel at just 3,000 rpm. For comparison, F1 of Source BMW The 6.1-liter V-12 produces 618 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque.

Only 125 T.50 supercars will be produced, including 100 road cars like the one shown here and 25 T.50s Niki Lauda track versions. Prices start at $3.26 million, but the entire production run is already sold out.

Once similarity and production of T.50 is underway, the GMA will shift its focus to the Supercar T.33. This next model, produced in a quantity of 100 units, also sold out, despite the $1.8 million price tag. In a recent interview, GMA founder Gordon Murray said a Electric SUV is also in the process of working.
