On Friday, police said a 15-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped twice in two different districts of Chhattisgarh.
A total of six people, including a 22-year-old woman, have been charged in the two cases and four of them were arrested on Friday, an official said.
The cases were registered at Chirmiri police station in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur (MCB) district on Thursday.
According to the complainant, the woman allegedly befriended her four months ago and took her to a hotel in Bilaspur, where three men raped her.
Later, two other men raped her at a roadside eatery in Chirmiri, the girl told police.
After the girl and her mother went to the police on Thursday, two cases were filed under sections 363 (kidnapping), 366A (undermining prosecution), 376D (gang rape) of IPC and terms of Protecting Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Action.
Several media reports suggested that one of the accused was a leader of the Youth Congress. But the youth wing of the ruling Parliament has denied that he is the head of its office.
