Ghislaine Maxwell says she ‘feels so bad’ for Prince Andrew in first prison interview since sex trafficking conviction | US News


Ghislaine Maxwell has said she “feels bad” for Prince Andrew and accepts that they can no longer be friends, in her first interview out of prison since being convicted of trafficking sex.

Speaking to CBS and Paramount Plus, the 60-year-old said she understands why Duke of YorkThe lawyers had to downplay their friendship.

“I feel so bad for him,” The Sun reported she told the interviewer. “I keep an eye on what’s going on with him.”

After a trial earlier this year, Maxwell to be convicted of luring young girls to massage parlors for disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein sexual abuse, from 1994 to 2004.

Speaking for the first time after being released from prison, she said: “I accept that this friendship cannot survive my sentence.

“He is paying such a price for the association. I consider him a close friend. I care about him.”

The old social networking site continues to assert that the now famous photo of her, Andrew and a young Virginia Giuffre (above) is not real.

But she added that “many women can identify” falling in love with someone they regret.

Maxwell, who was transferred to a low-security prison in Florida in July and is appeal her beliefsspoke to the media twice, according to The Sun.

The first interview was conducted at a high-security detention center in New York, where she was held after her arrest, and the second in Florida.

Prison documents confirm she was move to FCI Tallahassee this summer.

According to a prison consulting firm, inmates can practice yoga, perform on stage and watch movies.

Maxwell also talked about her trial in the interview, saying it turned her into an “evil wizard Disney character”.

She also described her friendship with former US president Bill Clinton as “special”, adding that they have “a lot in common”.

Maxwell said that like with Prince Andrew, she accepted that they could no longer be linked. But she said she felt “honored” that former President Donald Trump wished her well before the trial.

Describing how they “got into the same circle”, she said his words were a “huge hit”.

Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison after her arrest in 2020.

Epstein was found dead in his cell at a federal prison in Manhattan in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
