Broner, 33, posted a photo of himself and Tank Davis inside the gym. Adrien looks like he’s lost weight and looks significantly healthier than when he was scheduled to face Omar Figueroa last summer on August 20.
Despite his wealth of talent, Broner has failed to capitalize on it, having only fought once in the past three years. Broner needs to get in shape and stay active with her career to achieve the most success over the next three to four years.
Adrien is still young at 33 and could easily win another world title if he can be relegated to the weight division he has enjoyed his best success, fighting at 130 and 135.
As for the fans who say Broner can’t get back to that weight, they’re wrong. With a good dietitian, hard work in the gym and time on the track, he’s going to lose it.
Broner needs Deontay Wilder’s coach Malik Scott to help him drop back to 130 or 135 because he helped the Bronze Bomber drop from 238 to 214 lbs in his final battle.
If Wilder can lose 24 lbs of muscle and still retain his strength and energy, Broner will be able to drop 17 pounds to 130 or 12 lbs to get back to the hot 135 lb.
It’s not a good idea for Broner to fight at 140 or 147 anymore because he’s just not fit to compete in either of those weight classes.
To fight the best in those weight classes, one needs to be fast, or fast, or strong, and Broner still punches with the same power as when he fights in the ultralightweight category. That’s not good enough for Adrien to compete in the lightweight or welder class.
If Broner can get back to 130-lb, he can take advantage of Shakur Stevenson’s move to 135 and claim his WBC & WBO belts. In the super featherweight division, Broner’s main opponents will be the following fighters:
