Genshin Impact Developers Discuss the final game content and welcome newcomers


The The Genshin effect version 3.1 update recently went live, and it provided the opportunity to chat with the developers of HoYoverse via e-mail to gain insight into the team’s future plans.

We asked about endgame content, plastic caps, costumes, etc. In their response, the developers mentioned what’s currently being worked on, as well as potential ideas for updates. Japan in the future.

GameSpot: Versions 3.0 and 3.1 are expected to be a week shorter than usual. Going forward, will you continue with this shortened version length, or should players expect updates to go back to the old speed?

Starting with Version 3.0 through Version 3.2, the duration of each update will be shortened to five weeks. But the shorter update cycle will not affect the quality of the game and the content. Stay tuned.

Currently, Spiral Abyss is the only true endgame content available to high Adventure Rank players. Are there any plans to release new, permanent end-game content on the same vein as Spiral Abyss?

The spiral abyss is one of the most effective ways [for] player [to] test their partisan composition and combat power. If we were to design another kind of permanent endgame similar to Spiral Abyss, it might create undue anxiety for our players – not everyone would be interested in Musk Reef.

Like [the] Genius Invokation TCG that we introduced in the Special Program for Version 3.2, we are also working on designing more interesting gameplay in the future. As an open world game, Genshin Impact has a natural compatibility with various playstyles, which gives us confidence in the long run.

Genshin Impact is entering its second year with an ever-expanding lineup. Some older characters can be left out as power dwindles and newer characters become much stronger choices. Are there any plans in place to potentially upgrade older characters and make them more viable?

If a character is only judged by a single dimension of numerical strength, the power boost can really be a problem. However, in Genshin Impact, [the] rules of the game [are more impactful] than the strength of a character. Thus, new battlefields, new challenge levels, or even new team building, all have the potential to give new life to existing content.

Dendro’s birth created many new ways to cause elemental reactions, but some elements were eliminated. Has there been any discussion regarding the addition of new reactions to existing elements? For example, is it possible in the future to have a new Geo and Dendro reaction?

We have no such plans at the moment. With the release of the element Dendro, the seven-element system has become somewhat complicated. For us, there are other ways to increase player fun than simply increasing the complexity of the rules.

With easy and open rules, over a certain period of time, players will discover for themselves how to develop their own builds. That’s the fun of this game. Balancing all the rules of the game is part of the long-term design focus of the team, plus the team’s experience and learning from player feedback over the long term are all important to maintaining that focus.

For us, there are other ways to increase player fun than simply increasing the complexity of the rules.

Teyvat’s world continues to expand, giving players lots of challenges to complete daily (Domain, Boss, Ley Road). Is there any chance we’ll see a cap increase or a faster regeneration rate to allow players to take on more of these challenges per day?

Domains, Bosses and Ley Lines are important vehicles to farm characters and materials to ascension weapons as well as plastic [are] required to claim these items as rewards. Meanwhile, we also provide more options for players to get character development items. For example, many character and weapon ascension materials can be obtained and redeemed from events we periodically host.

New players may have been a bit off at the start of the Summertime Odyssey event because they missed the first introductions by Fischl and Mona. This also happens when Scaramouche appears in Inazuma’s Archon Quest after appearing in the limited-time Mondstadt event. Is the team considering adding a way for new players to view or replay old story-related content and cutscenes that only existed during limited-time events in the past?

We are aware of this issue and are looking at solutions for it. On the other hand, stories from limited-time events should never become a barrier to understanding and playing Archon Quest. On the other hand, we’re also working on beginner tutorial tweaks, customer volume optimization, smart management of past content, and other optimizations. And when our technology and capabilities [grow]We hope there will be helpful solutions that players welcome.

Skins were added to the game last year, giving some characters a fresh, stylish look. What is the probability that the Traveler will be the recipient of one of these outfits? It will be interesting to see Travelers in costumes representing some of the regions they visit during their journey.

It’s a fascinating idea to design regional-specific apparel and accessories for Travelers. We have nothing to share on that front, but we are always looking at new ideas.

As a follow-up to the previous question, Aether and Lumine seem to get cool little accessories during certain quests, such as masks or flower crowns, but they can only be worn for a period of time. short. Have you ever thought about turning these temporary accessories into permanent cosmetics?

We have discussed this question in the group and several other ideas similar to it, however, we do not have any news or details to disclose at this time.

In addition to Genshin Impact, HoYoverse is also developing Honkai Impact 3rd, Zenless Zone Zero and Honkai: Star Rail. Previously, there was a crossover between Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3 when Keqing and Fischl went to Honkai Impact. Are there any plans in store to do the opposite and bring characters from Honkai Impact 3 into Genshin Impact?

In terms of characteristics, we wish the channel would put more effort and attention [into] create characters from the world of Genshin Impact. If there are new opportunities for crossovers in the future, we will definitely share them with everyone.
