Gary Barlow ‘appears in biopic ‘Robbie Williams’

Gary Barlow has sparked rumors that he will appear as a guest in Robbie Williams’ upcoming biopic, Better Man.

The British singer, 51, has been secretly living in Sydney with daughters Daisy, 13, and Emily, 19, for the past few weeks.

The Take That star has been spotted dining at some of the popular cafes in the eastern suburbs and working out at the F45 gym.

Although it is unclear if Barlow will appear on camera, an industry insider told Daily Mail Australia he has ‘given instructions to make sure the story is told properly’.

British actor Jake Simmance, of the hit film Anatomy of a Scandal, will play a teenage version of Gary in Better Man, which is being filmed in Melbourne.

The other members of Take That will be played by Liam Head (Howard Donald), Jesse Hyde (Mark Owen) and Chase Vollenweider (Jason Orange).

The biopic will see Williams play himself, with the help of de-aging special effects, with actor Jono Davies participating in flashback scenes.

Michael Gracey, director of the 2017 hit musical The Greatest Showman, is directing the project.

Robbie recently joked: ‘There are sex scenes that I don’t approve of. I said, “If they have to be in there, Michael, you put them in there.”

‘He said it was essential for the script that I was completely nude and I don’t know why because there was a scene where we were in a church and it didn’t require that!

‘It’s my life and it’s what I stood for. It’s not anodyne, it’s not vanilla. It’s drugs, ups and downs, women, sex. ‘

In December, it was announced that producers would begin filming Better Man at Docklands Studios in Melbourne in early 2022.

The production is rumored to have a budget of $100 million.

The film will provide a retrospective look at the experiences that shaped Williams as a man and as a performer.

Gracey said in a statement: ‘Telling the beautiful, different story of Robbie William, back home, in my own city, is a dream come true.

‘There is a creative energy burning in the Melbourne film industry, and I know this film will thrive here.’
