GARCIA – TAGOE LIVE SATURDAY, APRIL 9 FROM SAN ANTONIO’s ALAMODOME, EXCLUSIVE ON DAZN

Ghanian boxer Emmanuel Tagoe has signed endorsement deals with Probellum and DiBella Entertainment – and he’s poised to cause a huge disappointment.

Tagoe heads to Texas on Saturday night to face the returning Ryan Garcia, one of the undefeated stars of a talented lightweight league.

Once an IBO title holder, Tagoe will start as an underdog but ‘The Gameboy’ – considered by many as one of the top 10 boxers at 135lbs – cares little about the odds and the man from the proud boxing city Accra is in a “dangerous” mood.

Garcia was being prepared to become the heir to the light throne, but Tagoe refused to bow down to ‘King Ry’.

“No one expects me to win this war but mark my words; Emmanuel Tagoe (32-1, 15KO) claims.

“I respect Garcia’s ability but he accepted to challenge one of the best boxers in the 135lbs division and, let me tell you, it’s a completely different ballgame at this level.

“Saturday night will mark the second phase of my career and with the support of Probellum and DiBella Entertainment, I am determined to show the world all about Ghanian fighters.”

Richard Schaefer, President of Probellum, said: “History has shown that Ghana produces world-class boxers and Emmanuel Tagoe will remind everyone of that fact in Texas this weekend.

“For Probellum to be able to co-promote Emmanuel and help him reassert his status as the flag bearer for boxing in his homeland, is a real honor for our company.

“He’s having an excellent fight with Ryan Garcia and we believe Tagoe will shock the world on Saturday night.”

“Emmanuel Tagoe is one of the top boxing talents from Ghana and is on a 32 win streak,” said Lou DiBella, President of DiBella Entertainment, Lou DiBella, President of DiBella Entertainment.

“He is hungry, determined and dangerous as he enters the biggest battle of his life against Ryan Garcia.

“The attention Probellum is giving to Ghanaian boxing makes them a natural co-promoter for Emmanuel as his career progresses through Garcia and beyond.”

Probellum, the fastest growing brand in the sports sector, has agreed to an advertising partnership with Box Office Sports Promotion in Ghana and signed one of the most famous prospects in the country, the undefeated Alfred Lamptey.

Unbeatable boxing sensation Ryan Garcia (21-0, 18KOs) of Victorville, CA, held a media workout today ahead of his scheduled matchup against Emmanuel “The Gameboy” Tagoe of Ghana (32-1, 15 KOs) on 9 April.

Texas’ 12-round lightweight bout will take place at San Antonio’s historic Alamodome on Saturday, April 9 and will be streamed worldwide on DAZN.

Today, Ryan showed the media all that he worked hard before his fight. Additionally, Oscar De La Hoya, President and CEO of Golden Boy, and Joe Goossen were on hand to support Ryan and talk about his return to the ring on April 9.

RYAN GARCIA, LIGHT SUBJECT:

“Now I’m at the point where I’m going to do great when I get into the ring. I have done all the promotions that I can. I will be the best I can be. You have to trust that gut feeling most guys don’t.

“I knew Joe Goossen would be the perfect fit for me. He was someone I could relate to, and we got along well. He’s alma mater, and I love that part of the game.

“I always stalk my opponents. That’s my fighting style. Make sure I counterattack whenever the opportunity arises.

“The first time I got knocked down, and I handled it well. I reacted the way I imagined.

“I’m pretty good at fighting smaller guys. [Tagoe] a little shorter, and he likes canning.

“The boxers are always trying to put pressure on me. We’ll see because I don’t know too much about this guy. I would calm down and surgically knock him down or knock him down. I have pretty good timing and accuracy. I think that separates me from the other boxers.

“My strength was revealed more easily. I don’t feel tired either. Everything is coming together. ”

OSCAR DE LA HOYA, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF GOLDEN BOY:

“He was fighting someone who had nothing to lose,” said Oscar De La Hoya. “I think Ryan needs to come out and make a point but do it smartly and carefully. Ryan knows what he’s doing. He is a professional. He’s been there before, so it’s going to be an interesting fight. Joe Goossen has been in the game for so many years. I’m glad they’re connected.”

JOE GOOSSEN, TRAINER TO RYAN GARCIA:

“I know he has something special. He is attacking this as if he is haunted and haunted. We got along well, and something about him drew me in with his shrewd and combative personality. I am really impressed. “
