Popular Gran Turismo 7 streamer, LifeIsAHighway79, has apparently been canceled after it was discovered that he played Forza Horizon 5 during his break.
LifeIsAHighway79, aka John Jacobs William, was wrapping up a 13-hour Gran Turismo 7 stream – where each time he lost a race he explained that the game was destroyed and “errors like hell” – when he he tells viewers that he needs to take a break and eat some “chicken” heavily dipped in BBQ sauce.
William told his audience he’d be back in about an hour to live stream the same race he’d lost many times before and appeared to have turned off the cameras. However, this streamer forgot to kill the sound because after about 15 minutes of playing the ASMR chewing sound, viewers realized they were shaking their heads to a familiar soundtrack. As the soundtrack continued to be ripped apart, song after song, they realized it could only be one thing: Forza Horizon 5.
“I can’t believe it,” said one viewer Game Infarcer. “He’s always played Gran Turismo 7 because it’s better than Forza Horizon 5. Like, they’re both trying to accomplish the same thing in the racing space, and like Gran Turismo 7 does it better. You really can’t argue that. But yeah, he was clearly playing Forza Horizon 5. I threw up my keyboard – that’s how angry I was. ”
“I gave this guy $5 last month to help him buy that $185 digital car and this is how he repays the Gran Turismo 7 community? I won’t watch LifeIsAHighway79 anymore,” said another in William’s community.
Another viewer said Game Infarcer that they hate William now.
“Let me say this: I speak for the entire Gran Turismo 7 player base and he has tinted this community’s delicate leather interior. He messed with the name Gran Turismo 7, ruined its purity and respect and love for the art of simulation racing.”
The director of Gran Turismo 7, Kazunori Yamauchi released a statement about Blog PlayStation related to the situation. Here’s what it says:
“Why don’t you try growing up, LifeIsAHighway79? You want to have a bunch of random cars throwing at you all the time while the background music blares. Well, guess what – Gran Turismo 7 isn’t. Enjoy Forza Horizon 5 or heck, try DriveClub. I do not care. As for me and the crew, we’ll be measuring the distance between the outside of the tire and the midpoint of our axles to add more thrust and our suspension on a track where YOU are NO longer allowed.”
William publicly apologized on Twitch and by posting screenshots of the iOS Notes app on Twitter, but his viewers said Game Infarcer he is still canceled. Public documents show that despite the contract cancellation, William still makes a lot of money streaming. In fact, he’s actually making more money than he was before his contract was cancelled.
