Fury vs. Whyte – LIVE results from Wembley

Via Dan Ambrose: WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs) puts his undefeated record against nasty tennis player Dillian Whyte (28-2, 19 KOs) tonight at Wembley Stadium in London.

Fury vs. Whyte will be broadcast live on ESPN+ PPV for $69.99, which some boxing fans are unhappy about due to the lack of big names on the tag. The event begins at 2:00 p.m. ET.

Boxing News 24 will update the results of the match between Fury vs. Whyte below.

Dillian Whyte seizes his chance

Lennox Lewis told iFL TV: “I think it’s very dangerous, especially given the fact that he’s locked himself in and I’ve seen Dillian Whyte improve over the years,” Lennox Lewis said. “Basically he is at the top right now.

94,000 fans are expected to be there tonight to watch Fury fight one last time, he said.

“If he got it all together today, he’d do well,” Lewis told Whyte. “He has a [title shot], and better late than never. You can only take advantage of the situation.

“This is a great situation he is in. It’s unbelievable because he would never have thought he would be in there, but with hard work and dedication, look where he is,” Lennox said of Dillian.

“He is very serious and very focused. It must be a really good fight. There’s a number of things going on there,” Lewis said on Whyte when he opted out of promoting the competition with unit Fury in the final week.

“I wish, he had done a bit of journalism. As you fight battle after battle, especially where Dillian comes in with his history and what he’s been through, I think he should do journalism because there’s a lot of kids there, and they want to hear from him.

“What did he do, how did he get here, and who is he? That will get him a lot more press around the world. What generates is more money for his next fight.

“I think he should have done it, but he has to do what he feels is right. Sometimes I fight, I don’t feel like journalism. They forced me to do journalism. I said, ‘No, they don’t take my focus away.’

“Don King was great at doing that. He’ll walk you through this press glove, and by the end, you’re really tired. By the time you enter the fight, you will be mentally and physically exhausted because you have pressed too much. So I can understand it from that point of view.

Fury will be right there at Whyte

“I don’t consider it 100%,” Lewis said when asked if Fury was serious about retiring after his fight with Dillian. “I think he just said that but sometimes I don’t believe he’s telling the truth. He will do what he wants to do.

Main battle card:

Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte
Ekow Essuman vs Darren Tetley
Isaac Lowe and Nick Ball
Tommy Fury vs Daniel Bocianski

“If it were me, I think I would stay and box for the undisputed. He will probably feel the same way afterwards. Look, he’s the current #1 heavyweight.

“He proved it to me. He’s actually holding my belt, the most prestigious belt out there, WBC,” Lewis said. “He is the leading man right now. I think it’s going to be very difficult for Dillian Whyte to adjust in the first innings, and I think in the middle, he’ll adjust a little bit better.

“It will be a great fight until then. I think Tyson has a lot of tricks he can use. I really don’t know how Tyson will come out on the field,” Lewis said.

Lennox said: “I guess he would just jump right at him and be right there in the bag and the box. “Maybe he will try and knock him down because he realizes he has knockout power, so he can try taking down Dillian Whyte.

“Oh yeah, there’s always that possibility,” Lennox said of the possibility of Fury & Dillian having to get off the floor at some point during tonight’s fight.

“There has always been that possibility in heavyweight combat and boxing. You never know what kind of drama is going to happen, and there is always drama when it comes to fighting,” Lewis said.
