NEW DELHI: India showed off its military might on Thursday at Kartavya Avenue as the nation celebrated its 74th anniversary republic day.
‘Nari Shakti’ was mainly the theme of the celebration with President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a host of other dignitaries joining the people and members of the armed forces to mark the occasion of August. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi was the main guest at this ceremonial event.

The Indian Army is represented by columns of 61 Cavalry deployed, nine mechanized columns, six backup marching squads, and one Army Aviation helicopter flyover – two ALHs (Dhruv) and two Rudra helicopter integrated ALH weapon system.

The theme of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) animation is ‘Defending the Nation with Effective Monitoring, Communication, and Neutralizing Threats’. The indigenously developed Wheeled Armored Platform (WhAP), a modular 8X8 wheeled combat platform, transported on a 70-ton trailer was exhibited by DRDO.
