Dragon Ball: The Breakers offers a unique spin in the franchise by allowing a group of players to work together to evade a player-controlled villain in an asymmetrical fashion. A new trailer focuses on one of those baddies, Lord Frieza, while also confirming an October launch date.
For those unaware, The Breakers tasks a group of non-superhuman civilians (including Bulma and Oolong) to escape the clutches of a powerful mastermind who has imprisoned them in a small space. This warden, known as the Raider, raises the bar by pitting these ordinary captives against powerful villains like Cell, Majin Buu, and of course, Frieza. The townspeople can work together or individually to escape to the time machine using different tools and seem to be able to harness and use the abilities of heroes like Goku.
The new trailer highlights Frieza, showing how players can rain destruction as emperor of the universe. This player can take on all of Frieza’s traditional transformations (his Golden form is unconfirmed) and unleash attacks like the Death Ball that destroys his planet. He even “Krillins” a victim by pulling them into the air and blowing them up.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers continues to look wild as well as funny, which is certainly fitting for the franchise. It will launch on October 14 for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC.
