Fresh Lies Of P footage shows a fight with a lightning gorilla bandit
Bloodborne is great, but it doesn’t have any lightning gorilla bandits. This is an upcoming issue P’s lie hopefully a fix, as revealed in a new gameplay trailer designed to show off how good it looks on the Radeon RX 7900 XTX. I will probably never own a Radeon RX 7900 XTX, but it looks like I will buy Lies of P.
It’s a Soulslike that takes you into an alternate Victorian London where people are really good at inventing creepy automatons. You play the big P, Pinocchio.
We’ve seen P’s fight clips before, but I’d rather watch the battles unfold than get messed up by quick jumps between different people, like in Gamescom trailer from last August. This gives a much better idea of the pacing, with standard enemies loitering around while you swing between them performing fancy sword swings.
The lightning gorilla robot does not tremble; it stood still. The way it smashes players around will make Hulk proud, and I like the slight stutter caused by its watch bezel. A boss worthy of opening the extremely Soulsy duel before the encounter, for sure.
As well as lightning combat, publishers Neowiz teased that the more you lie to NPCs, “the more human the player becomes, with all the advantages and disadvantages it brings.”
We’ll find out what that means when Lies of P launches sometime this year. In the meantime, you can check it out its Steam page.
