Met Office meteorologist Craig Snell said temperatures will soon rise across the whole of the UK.

“We are starting to reduce the risk of fog and temperatures are generally in the normal range.

“We’ll probably lose some really severe frosts. In terms of ice and snow, it looks like we’ve gotten through the worst.

“We must monitor the overall risk of smog during this cold spell, although the main hazards from it appear to be starting to abate.”

On Sunday, A yellow weather warning has been issued with Yorkshire down to East Anglia seeing the densest fog.
