EA has released a new base game update for The Sims 4 includes some medical wear, bandages and shaping clothing for Create A Sim, as well as console improvements and a long-awaited piece of furniture – the humble light switch.
New Sim Creation items give players more options in creating Sims that reflect a variety of life experiences. A new Medical Wearables category has been created under Face and Body Accessories. This category includes a hearing aid that comes in 15 different colors and can be used by Sims from Toddler age onwards. A separate Medical Wearables category is also available in the body customization section, with this menu including Sugar Monitors for Sims Age Kids and up, which can be assigned to either wing hands or on the lower abdomen on either side.
In the Body Scars category, players can now also add the Top Surgical Scar customization for Male Sims aged Teen and up with masculine or feminine frames.
The update also comes with two new clothing options. The first is a tight top available for teen Sims and up in the Tank top section of the Shirts category, and the second is a figure piece organized under Underwear in the Pants section.
There is also a new build item in the form of a Non-Switchable Switch, a light switch that has been added for players who desire more realism in their builds. From the item’s name, it looks like the light switch is just a decoration, not an interactive object.
The rest of the update focuses on improving the quality of life for console players, listed in more detail in EA’s Patch Notes. The update added manual UI placement for console players, as well as pointer scaling. Several improvements have also been made to Build Mode, as well as general updates to the controls and navigation on the dashboard.
In other Sims news, demo has started on the next Sims gameknown internally as Project Rene, will focus on more multiplayer than previous titles in the franchise.
