The reigning king Frankel (GB) raised the fee to £275,000 for the 2023 spawning season.
In another outstanding year, the Juddmonte stallion was responsible for the winner of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe Alpinista (GB) along with the winners of Classic Westover (GB), Nashwa (GB) and Homeless Songs (Ire), and Dewhurst S. . Chaldean Winner (GB).
A statement released by Juddmonte on Wednesday read: “Following up from a 2021 special season, we saw Frankel further cementing his reputation as a world-class male with nine Group 1 winners to date so far in 2022, more than any other male in the world. Over the past two years, he has selected 12 Group 1 winners, including 5 Classic winners and a total of 29 Group winners. He was the male of the four highest priced crested birds at Tattersalls Book 1, mentioned by the world’s highest priced book sold in 2022 for 2.8 million gns. His new fee reflects his status as one of the world’s finest stallions. “
King (GB), who have paid £150,000 over the past three seasons, have been slashed to a fee of £125,000. The 11-year-old has represented the Group 1 (GB) Junior Team this season, alongside high-progress sprinter Kinross (GB), G1 Prix de winner la Foret and his G1 British Championship Sprint of the year, along with two Group 2 wins.
“His fee adjustment acknowledges the fierce competition at this level in the market and the need to be competitively positioned,” reads the announcement from Juddmonte.
The solid component of the Juddmonte stallion, Oasis dream (GB), is growing 23 years old and is both a proven sire and a boar. His fees remain at £20,000, with fees for his trusted best friend Bated’s Breath (GB) is also kept at £15,000.
Completing the five thoroughbred stallions at Banstead Manor Stud is Expert eye (GB), who has named 21 individual winners to date since his athlete debut season, with 4 of them rated 90+ by Timeform. His fee has been cut to £7,500.
