Four arrests have been made after German masked ‘fans’ attacked England supporters at a pub ahead of Monday’s Nations League match at Wembley, police have confirmed. .

About 100 men approached a pub near the stadium two hours before the match started and began assaulting customers, the Metropolitan Police said.

At least three people were seriously injured and several suffered blows to the head and face.

A statement read: “At 5:50pm on Monday, September 26, a group of about 100 men, many wearing masks, approached a pub on Dagmar Avenue, Wembley through an alleyway leading back parking side.

“While some in the group wore England caps and scarves, it is believed that they were ‘fans’ of Germany.

“This group of people entered the beer garden of the pub and began assaulting customers, most of whom were present at the England vs Germany match.

“The staff responded and the group fled. The chaos lasted about two minutes.

“Several people suffered head and face injuries. We are also told three people have serious injuries to their legs, wrists and thumbs. None of the injured are believed to be in critical condition. to life.

“There have been four arrests to date related to the disorder.”

England’s last match before they started their World Cup campaign in Qatar ended in a 3-3 draw. Luke Shaw, Mason Mount and Harry Kane scored for Gareth Southgate’s side. Ilkay Gundogan and Kai Havertz (2) were German targets.
