Former Syracuse bronze medalist Greg Robinson dies aged 70

Former Syracuse Orange head coach Greg Robinson passed away on Wednesday at the age of 70 after battling Alzheimer’s, Robinson’s son told Syracuse.com.
Robinson has had a long coaching career that includes time at both the NFL and the college level. He is known for 4 years as coach of Syracuse from 2005-2008. Robinson replaced Paul Pasqualoni very successfully.
Syracuse has gone from just one losing season in nearly 20 years back to 10-37 under Robinson, never having played better than 4-8 in a season under him.
In the NFL, Robinson served as defensive coordinator for the New York Jets, Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos won two Super Bowls during his tenure, which lasted from 1995-2000.
Robinson last coached in 2015 as a defensive line/backward coordination coach at San Jose State.
