Boris Johnson is in talks with one of Hollywood’s most prominent talent agencies over a lucrative deal after he was ousted during his second term as British prime minister.
Sky News has learned that Mr Johnson has had detailed talks with Endeavor, the consortium founded by American businessman Ari Emanuel.
Sources say the former prime minister, who resigned in September, has been in talks with a number of talent agencies in recent weeks, including Endeavor and Harry Walker Agency (HWA), one of the companies. its subsidiary.
HWA is one of the representatives of the world’s top speakers, and counts people like the former President of the United States
Clinton and Obama, wife of former Hillary Rodham Clinton, actress Whoopi Goldberg and tennis star Serena Williams, on their books.
Mr Johnson could rake in millions of pounds from talks following his tumultuous time in Downing Street.
His efforts to amass enough support from his congressional colleagues to replace Liz Truss, his own successor, failed last month.
Entertainment industry sources said on Tuesday Mr Johnson could make tens of millions of pounds from speaking and appearing in the media if he stays productive for a number of years.
The exact size of any advances or fees being negotiated by him is unclear.
A person close to him suggests that he has no plans to take up the TV job “in the near future”, although they admit that he plans to do some talk shows in the coming months. .
Mr Johnson has also negotiated with other agents and the deal with Endeavor and HWA is unlikely to materialize, the person added.
It is understood Whitehall’s rules are overseen by the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments (ACOBA) meaning Mr Johnson cannot formally sign a deal until December.
