Former PlayStation employee files new sexism lawsuit against company
Former PlayStation employee Emma Majo filed a lawsuit against the new company after she was dismissed by a federal judge in April. Based on Majo’s new filing includes many of the same sexism allegations as in her original, but the scope of the lawsuit is more limited.
Instead of seeking to represent all women working for Sony’s PlayStation unit in the United States as she had previously intended, the lawsuit instead seeks damages for the women working for the company in California. . When Judge Laurel Beeler dismissed the original lawsuit, she said Majo could reapply with additional details. The new complaint incorporates allegations from who came to support the first suit.
“Sony tolerates and fosters a work environment that discriminates against female employees, including female employees and those who identify as female,” the complaint reads. We have reached out to Sony for comment. In the meantime, we’ll note that the company has previously asserted Majo’s claims based on “unverifiable allegations”.
