Former NFL player Kevin Ware was told his girlfriend was killed, burned
Former NFL player Kevin Ware Jr is believed to have murdered his girlfriend and burned her body, and is now facing murder and tampering charges after letting her body burn to the point of her home. It took authorities a year to identify her.
Ware, who previously played for the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Commanders, was initially a person of interest after his girlfriend, 29-year-old Taylor Pomaski, went missing in April 2021, according to reports. Houston Chronicle.
After an extensive search, her body was finally found eight months later in a ditch in Harris County, Texas in December, where police reported severe burns.

Pomaski was last seen at a party held at her home in Texas with Ware, 41, where witnesses said the two got into a heated argument. The Chronicle reported that she was never seen or heard from again.

According to Fox 5 New York, her body remained unidentified until April 2022, a year after it was found and nearly two years after she went missing.
In June, Ware was arrested by U.S. Marshals on an allegation of bond violations before being indicted by a Harris County grand jury a month later for murder and tampering with evidence in Pomaski’s death.
He was transferred from Montgomery County to the Harris County Jail this week.
Ware is scheduled to next appear in court on September 26. Prosecutors have asked for his bail at $1 million, however no judgment has been reached as of Friday on any form of bail.
He faces 15 years in prison if convicted.

In 2002, while a student at the University of Washington, Ware pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and received a suspended sentence. San Francisco Chronicles.
In 2010, he was charged in two separate cases in Houston for theft and evading arrest following an assault, the Chronicle reported.
Then, in December 2018, Ware was sentenced to two years in prison for the intent to manufacture or supply a controlled substance, a first-degree felony.
On April 19, 2021, the same month his girlfriend went missing, Ware was stopped for speeding in Magnolia, Texas, with a car search for cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and Xanax, along with a loaded AK-47 and a loaded 9mm pistol.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled substance as well as unlawful possession of a firearm as a felony, which is a third-degree felony in Texas.
Ware was released from prison the next day after posting a $23,000 bond, according to Montgomery County Police Reporter.
The former NFL player played 11 games for the Washington Redskins in 2003 and 5 games for the San Francisco 49ers in 2004 before being dropped from the league that September.
He played a total of 16 games as a professional soccer player, and made four receptions and 26 yard picks during his time in the NFL.
