Former Bureaucrat CV Ananda Bose Appointed West Bengal Governor

Former official CV Ananda Bose has been appointed Governor of West Bengal. In a statement, President Droupadi Murmu’s office confirmed Bose’s appointment.
“The President of India is pleased to appoint Dr. CV Ananda Bose as Regular Governor of West Bengal. The appointment will come into effect from the date he assumes his office,” Presidential Press Secretary Ajay said. Kumar Singh said in the statement.
Manipur Governor La Ganesan has taken on more responsibility of West Bengal since July after the former Governor, Jagdeep Dhankhar, became Vice President of India.
As Governor, Mr Dhankhar was accused by the ruling Trinamool Parliament of exceeding his role.
Mr. Bose is a recipient of the Jawaharlal Nehru Scholarship. He was also the First Fellow of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Public Administration in Mussoorie, which trains top civil servants. An accomplished writer and commentator, Mr. Bose has published 40 books in English, Malayalam and Hindi including novels, short stories, poetry and essays.
Mr. Bose is the chairman of a working group that prepares the development agenda for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. His concept of “affordable housing for all” was adopted by the government.
