Former Buccaneers, Jets DE Steve White dies aged 48

Before Tampa Bay Buccaneers Steve White died at the age of 48.
Some of White’s former teammates paid tribute to him on social media on Tuesday night. Bucs confirmed in a statement Wednesday that White passed away after a battle with cancer.
White, who was selected in the sixth round in Tennessee in 1996, announced in April that he had been battling chronic lymphocytic leukemia for eight years. He said at the time that he needed a bone marrow transplant.
Hall of Famer and Bucs legend Warren Sapp was among those reacting to the news.
White spent seven seasons in the NFL, most of which came in Tampa Bay from 1996-2001. He had 119 tackles in his career and 11.5 tackles. The highlight of his career was the 1999 NFC precinct playoff win over Washington, when White had two sieges and a forced somersault to go with seven tackles.
