Foreign investors turned to net buyers of Chinese government bonds in July

Foreign investors again became net buyers of Chinese government bonds in July – but only by a hair.
International investors have spent much of the past seven months reducing their market exposure, concerned about the geopolitical risks of investing in China following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. They were also attracted by the yield available in the US government bond market, in April start to bring in higher profits against Chinese government bonds for the first time in more than a decade.
