According to the report, the auto specialist was contacted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in late 2021 and 2022 regarding reports of blue images on the rear camera display. later in some affected Ford models. This is following the completion of the 2021 recall. This prompted the automaker to conduct an internal investigation, which resulted in a faulty rearview camera display in the affected models.

NHTSA is said to have opened an investigation in August 2021 after Ford recalled 620,246 vehicles in 2020 for another rear-view camera issue. This is not the first time the US automaker has issued a recall related to the rear camera. In recent years, the automaker has launched multiple recall campaigns related to the rear camera. Previously, the car brand recalled 47,000 Bronco 2021-2022 due to an error in the rearview camera image in the US.
