Footage of a drunken Adelaide pub brawl between 10 men shows a young woman being dragged to the ground

Police are asking the public for help after a bar brawl left a young woman knocked to the ground and two others injured.

Footage of the wild fighting taking place in a popular pub in Adelaide, South Australia, has been released to help identify the perpetrators.

The fight is said to have started after a verbal altercation on the upper floor of the Strathmore hotel, where it later spilled outside.

Colonel Samuel Thorpe of South Australian Police said ‘alcohol was a factor in this incident’.

The confrontation video shows the men wrestling, punching, kicking and pinching each other. More than one of those involved is seen using a chair as a weapon.

A young blonde woman is seen intervening between two groups of men trying to diffuse the violence but is hit by a man who tries to kick another patron.

The woman is seen lying on the pub floor as the fighting continues above her.

Brigid Koenig, an anti-violence campaigner from the Sammy D Foundation, told Nine News Adelaide she was worried for those watching the events unfold.

“Disgusting, these people are adults and they should know better,” Ms Koenig said.

‘There are kids around, there are outsiders watching this. They will be affected by this and will continue to think about it. ‘

The incident, which happened last November, continues to be actively investigated by the police, but no arrest warrant has been issued yet.

Police say most of the people featured in the video are innocent bystanders but would like to speak to any witnesses who have not been contacted.

They hope that the new appeal will spur someone to come forward and identify the main aggressors.

Detectives wanted to speak to two men who walked and took a taxi from Morphett St to Glenelg after the fight was over.

‘Police will not tolerate this kind of behavior happening in licensed venues. Everyone has the right to feel safe in these downtown locations,’ Senior Constable Thorpe said.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
