Follow US election results on your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch – here’s how
Want to stay up to date with Tuesday’s ongoing election results without constantly checking the news and social media sites? Apple has a solution – at least for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch users.
Starting late Tuesday, Apple News will show election results with real-time updates on your device’s Home and Lock screens. iPhone owners will be able to see the results through the Live Activity feature, where information appears in the Dynamics area at the top.

To enable this feature, simply open Apple News on your device. Look for a headline in Top Stories or Featured News that says: “Watch the Election Live.” Tap the little clock icon next to it and a notification pops up letting you know that you’ve scheduled a Live Activity. When the event starts, you’ll get real-time updates on your Home and Lock screens.
The message did not reveal a specific time when results would begin other than saying tonight. But as television networks, news sites and other sources begin to reveal preliminary results, it’s likely that Apple news will come into play as well.
The lock screen on iPhone and iPad displays a large, interactive widget that takes you to the latest election news, according to AppleInsider. Dynamic Island will show continuous updates of each candidate’s vote count, but of course only on devices that support this feature. Apple Watch wearers will be able to view a live Activity feed through widgets on the Smart Stack.
