Here’s What Laurie Shaver Was Sentenced To
According to WESHLaurie Shaver was found guilty of second-degree murder on Friday, September 13. Furthermore, the newspaper reported that the woman’s trial began on Monday, September 9, and the jury returned a verdict in the case after four hours of deliberation.
Laurie’s sentencing is scheduled for Monday, November 25, at 9 a.m. She is currently being held at the Florida Department of Corrections.
“…Michael was a wonderful son, brother, father, uncle and friend. He loved life, his work, his family, his friends and the aircraft he worked on,” Michael Shaver’s family said in a statement following Laurie’s guilty verdict, according to Fox 35 Orlando“The list could go on and on. He did not deserve what happened to him. His friends, family and now the public know what a wonderful man he was. He will live on in our hearts forever. Michael will never be forgotten. We can rest easy knowing that this story is known.”
Each WESHLaurie’s family is said to be planning to appeal her ruling.

Here’s What a Florida Woman Allegedly Did to Her Husband
According to Fox 35 OrlandoLaurie’s husband, Michael Shaverwas reported missing in 2015. Three years later, his body was reportedly found in their backyard “buried beneath a fire pit and concrete slab.” Additionally, Michael was reportedly discovered with a gunshot wound to the head.
According to prosecutors in the case, Laurie allegedly “pretended to be her husband for months after his death.” She allegedly contacted his friends, family, and co-workers. Additionally, prosecutors even claimed that Laurie accused Michael of moving out of state, leaving their family behind.
When she testified, Laurie reportedly accused Michael of being “angry because she was pregnant.” The couple reportedly got into a fight before Michael was shot dead.
A 17-year-old Florida boy is also now facing murder charges.
In a separate case in Florida, a 17-year-old is also facing murder charges. Shade room Collin Griffith was previously charged with stabbing his mother, Catherine, to death on September 8, according to previous reports.
Collin reportedly told authorities his mother fell to a knife during a “very long fight.”
Collin was also charged with first-degree murder. However, authorities are also reportedly looking into the possibility that he was involved in a previous murder—in connection with the death of his father in Oklahoma.
On February 14, 2023, Collin allegedly called authorities to report that he had shot his father in self-defense. In a subsequent case, Collin was reportedly convicted of murder. However, according to EVERYBODYIt remains unclear whether Collin’s mother’s murder will reopen his father’s case.
