Floods sweep through Las Vegas strip, casino for the second time in a week
Flash floods swept across the iconic Las Vegas strip for the second time in the first few weeks of Friday, flooding casinos and flooding parking garages.
The The National Weather Service in Las Vegas issued a flash flood warning early Friday just after midnight Warning of heavy rain, lightning and strong winds. Videos on social media show a bus crossing an intersection turning floodwaters into a lagoon, and a car battling the strong currents of downhill flooding.
Another video shows water pouring in from the roof of what appears to be the Planet Hollywood casino. Footage posted to Twitter shows water soaking several playing cards with floating cards and chips.
The gambling town is experiencing its most intense monsoon season in a decade. It has seen 1.28 inches of rainfall in 2022, according to the National Weather Service. The area hasn’t received more than an inch of rainfall since 2014according to the National Weather Service.

Las Vegas City Officials Residents advised people not to drive through flooded areas, find another route or wait until the water recedes.
