Apple TV+ hits the gold mine with Ted Lasso and more is on the way. The highly anticipated third season is due out in the spring of 2023, so the release date is not too far off at this point. The latest news was announced at the 2023 Winter Television Critics Association press conference.
The popular comedy series premiered on the streaming service in August 2020 and has become one of the most popular shows on television. Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis as the main character originated in a series of commercials for NBC Sports’ Premier League coverage. In the film, Ted is an American college football coach hired to lead an English football team.
After ten episodes of the first season, Ted Lasso renewed for a second and third season in October 2020. Season 2 consists of 12 episodes and is set to premiere in July 2021. Now, fans are eagerly awaiting the highly anticipated third season. The trailer hasn’t been released yet, so we don’t have much information about it yet Ted Lasso season 3, but we have a first picture.

What can fans expect from Ted Lasso Part 3?
Some details about Ted Lasso season 3 comes from co-author, writer and star Hunting Brendan. Brendan, who plays Coach Beard, says TV that the new season could begin after a huge leap in time from the events of season 2. “Well, we don’t want to do the same thing twice,” he said. “In season 1, we joined [Premier League] season in January. In Season 2, we got into it at the end of September. We’ve never gone from begin of a season, so maybe that’s what we want to achieve. And just knowing the schedule in the Premier League, we will play West Ham twice – home and away, because that’s how it is.”
For those who forgot, in the season 2 finale, assistant coach Nathan Shelley (Nick Mohammed) left AFC Richmond to work with rival team West Ham, a team owned by Rebecca Welton’s (Hannah Waddingham) ex-husband, Rupert Mannion (Anthony’s head). The match between AFC Richmond and West Ham is sure to be a big storyline in season 3. We can also expect to see more of the Keely Jones romance (Juno Temple) and Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein). producer Kip Kroeger told Limit line that season 3 will go “deeper into the backstory” of some of the characters. “You know, we’ll have a little more information about their origins,” Kip teased.
The hype for season 3 is real, but don’t expect a summer premiere like the first two. Season 3 did not begin filming until March 2022, due to a “football wrinkles.” Brendan explained to TV that they had difficulty shooting football scenes in time. Brendan said: “This year we will definitely start later than Season 2, that’s for sure. “So I would be surprised if our delivery dates were the same.” In other words, Ted Lasso season 3 will probably come out in late 2022. There will be 12 episodes, just like season 2.

Total Ted Lasso gang will return in season 3. Obviously included Jason Sudeikis like Ted himself. Ted will continue to lead AFC Richmond in the new season.
Hannah Waddingham
Hannah Waddingham will return as AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Walton. Rebecca will have to deal more with her ex-husband who bought West Ham United.
Juno Temple
Juno Temple returns as Keely Jones. At the end of season 2, Keely left AFC Richmond eager to start her own PR firm, although it caused friction in her relationship with Roy.
Brett Goldstein
Brett Goldstein is returning as the cranky midfielder Roy Kent. Roy’s relationship with Keely will certainly be a major plot point in season three.
Hunting Brendan
Hunting Brendan is reprising his role as Coach Beard, who has his own central focus in the second season. Brendan is also one of the show’s executive producers with Jason and Bill Lawrence, Joe Kelly, Jeff Ingoldand Bill Wrubel.
Nick Mohamad
Season 3 will be the main part of Nathan Shelley, do Nick Mohamad. The second season ended with great betrayal from Nate, who left Richmond for rivals West Ham United.
Jeremy Swift
Jeremy Swift will return as lovable Football CEO Leslie Higgins. Leslie will be the main character at AFC Richmond in season 3 after Nate leaves the team.
Phil Dunster
Phil Dunster returns as the spoiled AFC striker Jamie Tartt. Jamie has returned to Richmond and enjoys Ted’s training methods.
Toheeb Jimoh
Toheeb Jimoh is returning as the fan-favorite Sam Obisanya. Sam is a young Nigerian footballer who unexpectedly starts a relationship with Rebecca and then begins his efforts to open a Nigerian restaurant.
Cristo Fernandez
Cristo Fernandez returns as Dani Rojas, the young Mexican striker. He has a close relationship with Sam and the rest of the group.
Sarah Niles
Sarah Niles will return as sports psychologist, Dr. Sharon Fieldstone. She forms a close bond with Ted after he finally opens up to her about his mental health struggles.
James Lance
James Lance will return as sports columnist Trent Crimm. executive producer Bill Lawrence who confirmed Sarah and James’ return to the show. “I can tell you they both have an important role to play next year,” Bill said Limit line.
Will season 3 be the last?
even though Ted Lasso widely available, Jason revealed to Weekly entertainment in June 2021 that he’s only thinking of a third of the season for the show. “The story I know is the story I want to tell, and it’s the story we’re telling with the help of so many people in front of and behind the camera, so it doesn’t mean that I type every key and say each word. It’s nowhere near that. But the story being told — that three-season arc — is the one that I see, know, and understand,” the actor explained. “I’m glad they’re willing to pay for those three seasons. What happens after that, who knows? I do not know.”
Brendan said in that interview to explain that Ted Lasso is “always means three seasons.” He added, “I think it would be great given how much people like the show, we persisted and really only made three seasons. But even as committed to that idea as Jason was, none of us were as prepared for people to love the show. We’re almost uninhabited here, still confused by the answer, and I think that might soften the tough old Sudeiki a bit. I would say, whatever he decides, I will gladly follow.
In an interview with Sunday Times in June 2022, Brendan repeated that Ted Lasso Part 3 is being written as the final part of the series. “It was planned to be three,” he said, jokingly adding, “Spoiler alert – everyone dies.”

It features the cast helping Ted find his signature mustache before he FaceTimes with his son at home. No Ted Lasso spinoffs have been officially announced – yet.
