Gabby Sidibe revealed she just gave birth
According to Shutterstock, the 41-year-old revealed she and her husband welcomed twins in early April. The outlet noted that the couple welcomed a baby boy named Cooper and a baby girl named Maya.
“Brandon always wanted to name his son Cooper, so we could call him ‘Coop,’ and Maya was named just before our new moon to the Maya Riviera in Mexico,” Sidibe told the outlet . “Both twins have traditional West African middle names after my family members.”
Sidibe explains that her bundle of joy is “incredibly strong and fun” even though they “don’t really interact yet.”
“Sometimes Cooper would speak for Maya and warn us that she was about to spit. Maya loves having her name sung to her and is the queen of comedy timing, and Cooper loves his naps and has the funniest facial expressions,” Sidibe added. “They both like to cuddle with their parents.”
The 41-year-old explained that the day she went into labor was a complete surprise.
“We were originally planning to go to a routine appointment, but were told the twins would arrive later that day than originally planned,” shares Sidibe.
Since then, the actor noted that every day with her children is full of events. Sidibe and her husband’s “biggest surprise” since the birth is “how loud and chaotic the kids are when they sleep.”
“’Active sleep’ is pretty wild,” the 41-year-old said. “Also, it was surprising to see how little they acknowledged each other outside the womb when they seemed to interact so much inside.”

Before wrapping up her big life update, Sidibe shared that her biggest advice for parents expecting twins is to “get them on the same schedule. That is compulsory!”
Additionally, she explained what she and her husband are most looking forward to as new parents of twins.
“We are excited about the costumes and dressing them up, to sing along, the trips and discoveries, and raising them to be good people,” Sidibe shares.

“I’m pregnant! We thought it was time to give our cats some responsibility so we gave each of them a baby to take care of!” she wrote on the platform.
Additionally, Sidibe notes that the unexpected will come “double the babies, double the cats, double the fun!!”
“Double delivery coming soon! Twenty-four, twenty-four!!” she concluded in her post’s caption.
