Firefighters at Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service ‘photographed dead bodies of women in car accidents’ | UK News

Police have been alerted amid claims that firefighters at Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service allegedly took pictures of women’s corpses at the scene of a car crash.

ITV News reported that the images were shared on a WhatsApp group in which male firefighters allegedly made degrading comments to the victims.

In an interview with ITV, a female firefighter at the service said: “There are clear pictures, there are pictures of the accident, sometimes you can even see the dead body in the accident. .

“Rescuing the dead body should tear the body, not take pictures, later just for fun because it’s someone’s relative, right? It’s someone’s relative.”

She also claims that she has seen people “comment on what kind of underwear the women were wearing in the car crash”.

Ben Ansell, fire chief for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue, said in a statement that police had been alerted to allegations of related criminal conduct.

The service is conducting an independent investigation into the complaints, during which all female employees will have the opportunity to speak with an independent organization.

It has also set up a confidential helpline that employees can call for any “instant issues” resulting from these allegations.

Mr Ansell said: “The issues raised to us are very disturbing and we take allegations of this nature very seriously.

“We are deeply shocked and appalled to hear of these allegations. We ask that any individuals affected, provide us with additional information to enable us to investigate these allegations and allow us to support them.

“There is an expectation for our employees to work within our code of ethics, which sets out high levels of expected behavior. The vast majority of our employees are non-profits. well, hard work and excellent job done. But when and if those standards are appropriate? are not met, we will move quickly to address it.”
