Fiona Stanley launches study on ‘Intelligent Knives’ that could change surgery for burns victims globally

A laser knife that examines in real-time the smoke from burnt flesh, is being studied in Perth and could change surgery for burn victims across the globe.

Just eight I-Knives, or Intelligent Knives, that can detect the condition of cells based on the smoke from the burn, have been developed, with most studies of the knives examining cancer.
