The Finger Lakes Thorough Adoption Program (FLTAP) was recently advised by Thoroughbred Charity of America (TCA) that it will receive a 2022 grant to support FLTAP’s work to transform the horse athletes to a productive and fulfilling life after their time on the track . The TCA Board of Trustees determines funding requirements that uphold TCA’s mission, which is to fund and facilitate support for Master students and their caregivers. As part of the evaluation, FLTAP received nominations from Irish Hill and Dutchess Views Stallions, and part of the funding was made possible by Race to Give. The Race to Give is an online fundraising and awareness campaign designed to raise money for post-bred care programs and initiatives created by the Hagyard Equine Health Institute.

“We are honored and appreciative of TCA’s continued support of our commitment to giving Purebred dogs a second chance at a fruitful career after their racing days.” Chairman of the Board of Directors of FLTAP Kim DeLong said. “These funds will support our daily activities to support the health and well-being of the Purebred dogs currently in our care while we move them into their next home.” .
