Fetty Wap says getting out of prison, thank you fans for showing love

Rapper Fetty Wap is speaking out from behind bars as he awaits sentencing for drug trafficking, thanking fans for showing their support and adding that he “never bowed, never hurry” and always keep “my head held high”.

On Tuesday, an audio clip surfaced online due to Hip Hop DX shows off the “Trap Queen” rapper in a cheery spirit as he sends fans a message of gratitude, as he’s remained jailed for federal drug charges since his arrest before performing at Rolling Loud in October 2021.

“Never bend, never fold” Fetty Wap said in an audio message from behind the bar

“Ayo, yo, what’s up, man, you knew it was your boy Fetty Wap 1738, you heard it,” Fetty Wap said. “I just want to thank all the fans. You feel me? All the fans show love to me, send all the reels and the story and everything and all the cards, photos and everything like you heard.

“You know I keep my head up, you know what I’m saying? Like never bend, never fold, I love you guys, thank you all for everything you know what I’m talking about,” he continued.

The sound came just weeks after a photo emerged of Fetty Was wearing a brown prison jumpsuit and posing next to three other inmates. He is believed to have been held at a special housing solidarity organization at a federal prison in Brooklyn.

Was issued a $500,000 bond, but was arrested again in August for a threatening FaceTime call

He was released for $500,000, but was re-arrested on August 8 for a FaceTime call in December 2021 where he allegedly threatened to kill another man, whom he calls “rat” and “snitch”.

Doing so violated Fetty’s conditions of release, and he was sent back to prison where he is still waiting to begin his trial in Central Islip Federal Court.

On August 22, the 31-year-old pleaded guilty to federal drug charges related to his interstate drug dealing, specifically conspiracy to possess and distribute 500 grams of cocaine, the New York Times reported. York Daily News reported.

“I gave consent with others to distribute cocaine,” Fetty told the judge during the hearing. “Guilty.”

Fetty’s plea came with a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison, with a maximum sentence of 40 years.

His lawyer Elizabeth Macedonio revealed during the plea that she was “very concerned about his housing” and that he was being subjected to “the harshest conditions”.

Macedonio also requested that he be transferred to another prison while he awaits sentencing, but prosecutors say that decision is within the jurisdiction of the US Marshals Service and the Bureau of Prisons.
