MLB dropped a bomb on Friday night, announcing a Suspension of 80 matches Because San Diego Padres star missed Fernando Tatis Jr for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy.
The league’s press release states that Tatis Jr has tested positive for Clostebol, a performance enhancer.
“We were surprised and extremely disappointed to learn that today Fernando Tatis Jr. tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance in violation of Major League Baseball’s General Treatment and Prevention Program and was subsequently given an 80-match unpaid suspension” a statement from Padres read. “We fully support the Program and hope that Fernando will learn from this experience.”
Tatis Jr released a statement of his own in which he said he “unintentionally” drank the drug, adding that he was “totally devastated” and will serve an immediate suspension. ie.
Tatis Jr is yet to play for the 2022 season, in March following a procedure to repair a wrist fracture.
The 23-year-old has made good progress to return. Tatis just started a rehabilitation assignment with Double-A San Antonio last week.

After repurchaseg All-Stars Juan Soto, Josh Bell and Josh Hader on the deadline, the Monks are definitely looking forward to adding Tatis Jr back to their roster. Now, they will have to wait until 2023 to see their star back on the pitch.
