Fans React to Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury US PPV Price
After rumors have signed, Jake Paul and Tommy Fury have officially declared war.
Scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Sunday, February 26, The pair will tackle their social media problems in the ring in what is supposed to be a ten-round cruiser class competition.
The event will be a joint promotion between Jake Paul’s MVP, Bob Arum’s Top Rank and Frank Warren’s Queensberry. Details on the card and timing for the main event are expected to be announced in due course.
UK fans who don’t like flights to the Middle East will check it out Sports ticket office BT. Price is yet to be confirmed, however, it is said to be standard £19.95.
The US broadcast will be available through ESPN+’s pay-per-view for a price, according to the press release, of $49.99. Even though it’s cheaper than many box office offerings in the United States, many fans are still unhappy with what they have to spend to tune in.
Some claim that they will instead ‘illegally stream’ the event, while others say the athletes’ caliber befits something close to the $20 price point. Of course, there’s also the classic saying ‘if it’s in my back garden, I’ll draw the curtains too’.
It’s hard to remember the last time fans actually welcomed a pay-per-view announcement, so this response probably won’t affect the number of purchases the event can get.
Given the star power of both parties involved, as well as the lingering intrigue over their skill levels, all signs point to good business being done.
Jake Paul has confirmed that he will be flying to London to face Fury to officially start the promotion.
