LOS ANGELES — The family of rapper Theophilus London filed a missing persons report with Los Angeles police this week and is asking for the public’s help, saying he hasn’t been seen for many years. month.
London’s family and friends believe someone last spoke to the musician in July in Los Angeles, according to a family statement released Wednesday from Secretly, a musical group that has worked with London.
The statement said London’s relatives had been trying to determine his whereabouts over the past few weeks and had filed a police report earlier this week.
Officer Annie Moran, a spokeswoman for the LAPD, confirmed on Wednesday that a report to London had been made. A ministry news release said London was last seen in the Skid Row area on October 15 and his family had completely lost contact with him.
“Theo, I love you, son,” his father, Larry Moses London, said in the family statement. “We miss you. And all your friends and family are looking for you. Wherever you are send us a signal. Either way we’ll come pick up your son.”
London posted a lot on Instagram, but his last posts also came in July.
London, 35, was born in Trinidad and Tobago and later raised in the Brooklyn borough of New York. He was nominated for a 2016 Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance for a prominent place alongside Paul McCartney on Kanye West’s “All Day”.
London has regularly collaborated with the artist now known as Ye, who produced and guest-starred on 2014’s “Vibes.” London often posts updates on Ye’s “Donda” and “Donda 2” on Instagram, even saying that he was “promoted to take on media duties” in place of Ye in February.
London himself has released three studio albums — “Timez Are Weird These Days” 2011, “Vibes” and “Bebey” 2020. Recently, he was featured on the show “Get Your Money” Young Franco, released this past September — a month before he was last seen.
While “Vibes” was a Warner Records release, “Bebey” was released on London’s own label, My Bebey Records.
“I want to see what it feels like to be a family, to have a piece of land, to build a house on your own land, instead of having to sleep in a hotel for the rest of your life,” he said. he told Complex about branching out on its own in 2020.
